While this is not an official update or a third-party hack, it is still pretty useful. Travis from Lifehacker describes how to cleverly repurpose the iPod touch’s Contacts app in order to keep a simple to-do list. Check it out and let us know how well it works.

    I have one short question about this idea.
    is there a birthday - notification function (like in the old iPods…?)
    it would be a great thing to set the birthday and get notified about your things that day you wake up in the morning…

    or is this another feature apple disabled?
    (would be just another proof that this is not an iPod to me… and that their idea to remove ‘add calendar events’ to keep the touch as an iPod is simply wrong … where are my iPod games, what is Safari doing on my iPod …)
