Catchy slogan, good looks, and oh so much more. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to describing the Shade for the iPod touch 1st gen in just a few, short words. This week is a busy one in terms of case reviews for Hack the iPod touch. Continuing our series of case reviews for the iPod touch (1G and 2G), this week features many cases and accessories from top brands including Griffin and Belkin. We’ll also be taking a look at not so known companies such as Eyeghost, as well as a few more products from companies that we’ve already partnered with.

Abcmsaj will be taking a look at SwitchEasy‘s ever-so-popular RebelTouch case for the 2nd-generation iPod touch, and I’ll be taking a look at one of iLounge’s best of 2008 choices – the Griffin iClear case. Both cases are top of the line, and we’ll show you why close up.

And that’s far from all. We’ll also be taking a look at Gecko Gear‘s neoprene sleeve for a 13″ MacBook, and although not an Apple product, a look at PDair‘s aluminum case for the HTC Touch smartphone. There’s more, so keep reading for a more detailed look at what’s in store this week at Hack the iPod touch.

It’s becoming more evident that a jailbreaking tool for the new 2nd-generation (2G) iPod touch is unlikely – at least from the iPhone Dev Team. The members of this development team have labeled the task of unlocking the 3G iPhone as their top priority right now, and left 2nd-gen iPod touch owners hanging with their comment, “we are not looking at the iPod touch 2G at the moment.”

But just has long is “at the moment” going to be? User ledhendrixman over at iPod touch Fans found a few interesting comments made by members of the iPhone Dev Team in regards to the 2nd-gen iPod touch jailbreak. Continue reading to find out what the team members had to say and for the full scoop on the progress of the 2nd-gen jailbreak.

Today we’ll be taking a look at PDO‘s Leather Flipp case for the 1st-generation iPod touch, as part of the Hack the iPod touch series of case reviews. I’d like to thank PDO, especially Syta, for your kind donation. It’s appreciated, and makes these reviews possible!

On the packaging, PDO describes this case as premium leather, and that’s no lie. PDO’s Flipp case looks, smells and feels like premium leather. This case is a nicely-stitched flip top leather case, that’s professional looking and protective all at once. And it’s affordable at a discounted price of $19.99 (regular $29.99) on PDO’s website.
