Its been done, ive seen it done, and Ive USED a jailbroke second gen Ipod touch. The person who did it informed that it was running a slightly modified 2.2 firmware, he only had placed Cydia on it. I was told it took over 40 hours to complete, and its a 100% soft jailbreak, no opening required... More info comming later! But I assure all the readers that its PERFECTLY jailbreakable!! I had the exact same problem as all of you, i tried for two days, trying everything suggested in various forums and getting nowhere until i read a post in another forum from a guy who said trying a different computer worked for him. First attempt worked like a dream. I dunno what or why it wouldnt work on my dell laptop but i suggest trying it on a different computer.
