Firmware 2.2.1 update available

Apple has just pushed out Firmware 2.2.1 for iPod touch, iPod touch 2G, iPhone and iPhone 3G. The official update notes list mostly bug fixes, but we’ll keep our eyes open for any other undocumented changes. If you’ve updated to Firmware 2.2.1, let us know if you’ve found any other updates we should know of.
If you choose to update to Firmware 2.2.1 we’ll remind you that while all media (music, videos, App Store apps) will stay untouched, any previous jailbreak will be removed. That includes all themes and jailbroken applications. Firmware 2.2.1 cannot be jailbroken at this time until the iPhone Dev Team releases an updated version of their jailbreaking tool, QuickPwn, for both PC and Mac. The Firmware 2.2.1 update is available through iTunes.
What’s new:
- Official: Improved stability of Safari
- Official: Fixed bug where photos saved from Mail would not display correctly
- Official: Fixed bug where some Apple Lossless (ALAC) files would skip during playback
- User Found: When switching between tabs in Safari, it doesn’t reload the site but shows the latest page load.
Yay! I’m gonna make a jailbreak vid on this as soon as a stable one comes out.
