Are you tired of your friends always wanting to use your iPod touch or iPhone? If you’re saying yes right now, there’s some good news for you. User Stephen.4 over at iPod touch Fans has developed and released an application that simulates a cracked screen. This way, you can tell your friends that your screen is cracked and they won’t annoy you about using your iPod anymore.
Continue reading to find out how this application works, where you can download it from, and an upcoming App Store alternative called Oooops!:
How this application works is fairly simple. You take a screenshot of your SpringBoard and then inside of this application you choose the cracked screen image from the image picker that’s built-in to the application. Next, you simply tap the screen and the image loads visualizing that the screen is cracking over top of the SpringBoard screenshot.
In order to use this cracked screen application you must have a jailbroken iPod touch, iPhone or iPhone 3G that is running Firmware 2.0 or above. Of course, you can’t use this application on the 2G iPod touch because it cannot be jailbroken at this time. You can find this application on your iPod in Cydia under BigBoss’ repository or you can download and install it manually by down
loading it from the below links:

Stephen.4 points out that there are still a few things that need to be fixed, including:
- Black line below the About button
- Too many images
And while Stephen.4 is working on learning more code, we’d like to mention that for users that are not jailbroken, or have a 2G iPod touch, there will be an application coming to the App Store for you soon! Called “Oooops!”, it’ll be a similar application to this that also has a cracking sound along with it. You can simply shake your iPod touch or iPhone to remove the cracks. It’ll appear in the App Store – developed by Appliya – after it passes the App Store approval process. At this time, Appliya has not commented on whether or not this application will be free or cost money. You can even watch a demo of this application on YouTube!
So what do you think about both of these applications? Which one will you use, and if Oooops! costs money, will you buy it? Leave your comments below.
If it costs no way!!!There a web app called broken. JuanD13G0

looks good, although a cracked screen would probably attract more attention than anything.

I think ooops should have some free and some paid apps. You should have people able to create apps and you should post them but take like 15-20% of the profit so you are happy and the creater of the application. (BTW this is a pretty cool app)
