You heard me right! The iPhone and iPod Touch just might be getting a dose of the action late 2008 or early 2009.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown is being developed right now for Nintendo DS but it might also be secretly being ported for an App Store release. An analyst from Janco Partners, Mike Hickey, believes that it would be very easy for Rockstar to port the game over from the Nintendo DS because of the similarities between the two.

“We expect GTA will likely be ported to Apple’s iPhone platform, leveraging the device’s touch screen technology and accelerometer. Apple’s determination to layer gaming applications into the device’s consumer value proposition and growing installed base is likely sufficient motivation for a deal” Hickey said.

Now that GTA IV sales are dying down, Take-Two need something to keep their revenue flowing in and this would be one easy way to make a ton of cash.
