Earlier today, we blogged about issues with the iPod touch screen rotation feature. Jason, one of our readers, wrote us using our new tip form:
Hey guys I read the post on screen rotation and thought you might like to see it in action. I have noticed that the screen won’t rotate so I filmed it and put in on Youtube.
Thanks Jason! Check out his handiwork after the jump.
As you can see, the bug is present but not too annoying. Nonetheless, we would love to see it fixed.
This isnt a bug. If you dont hold it up then you have this problem. BUG FIXED.

I’ve seen it get stuck b4 and it took moveing it back and forth about 3 times to get it to switch again.

I’ve had a much more serious version of this – it quit rotating at all, in any application – photos, safari, no coverflow, etc. For two full days. I think it locked up when I was watching youtube videos. Playing a native video from my library finally unfroze it.

You’re a gigantic retard toucch fan. Guy notices a rendering issue with the product which shouldn’t be present and reports it. Why ignore it when it could possibly be fixed.

This is not a bug.
If you hold your iPod in a vertical position I can guarantee you it will work flawlessly. But if you hold it vertically, it won’t work sometimes (or at all in some cases). I had the same problem and I was quite disappointed until I realized what the problem was.
Hope it helps

Matt, thank you SO much. I don’t know how or why, but rotation stopped working too, and playing a native video on my iPod worked – no more rotation issues. Thank you very much!!

I just purchased my touch today, and I was having the same rotate problem. After researching the issue online, I discovered that it was an issue for a number of people. so I resetting the device, and my screen still would not rotate. The best advice that read was to hold the device straight up and turn it. It worked for me. The device does not rotate at an angle.
Hope this helps

I have tried all of these solutions…none of them work…my iPod completely stopped rotating… I held it at a perfect angle and waited for about 10 minutes
